My camera broke. I took it to the beach and it got full of sand.

Any suggestions?

Afternoon

I'm back at school after a nice long stint in Minnesota. It was a beautiful, beautiful summer, one I think I will always miss. While Kansas is still beautiful, I always feel less inspired to take out the camera, not to mention the fact that I just don't have much time for those kinds of things. Ah, the life of a penniless undergradute. Class, work, study, sleep, repeat. And on the weekends? Work, study, party, sleep/pass out. I try to shape my days in a way that allows for some wondering and wandering, but my infinite list of ambitions tends to get in the way.

To summarize: Classes have started, so don't expect many new photos, save for during breaks.

In my heart’s sequestered chambers lie truths stripped of poet’s gloss.
Words alone are vain and vacant and my heart is mute.
In response to aching silence memory summons half-heard voices,
And my soul finds primal eloquence and wraps me in song.

If you would comfort me, sing me a lullaby.
If you would win my heart, sing me a love song.
If you would mourn me and bring me to God,
Sing me a requiem, sing me to heaven.

Touch in me all love and passion, pain and pleasure,
Touch in me grief and comfort, love and passion, pain and pleasure.
Sing me a lullaby, a love song, a requiem.
Love me, comfort me, bring me to God.
Sing me a love song, sing me to heaven.

Beginnings

I'm new to this.

I have very little knowledge of the basics of photography, and I don't really know how to handle a camera. Nevertheless, I'm willing to learn, and I love to experiment.

We'll see where this leads.

Freshman year of college. I'm constantly terrified, yet simultaneously awestruck. The world really is big, and it's all new to me.

I'll probably submit some poetry/prose from time to time.

Spring around campus is positively gorgeous. I didn't realize it was possible for every single tree to be in bloom, but apparrently in Kansas these things happen.

Walk on a rainbow trail;
walk on a trail of song,
and all about you will be beauty.
There is a way out of every dark mist,
over a rainbow trail.
